Resumo:Many modern adaptations of ancient tragedies are not always well received by the public, either because the distance from the original, either because their fidelity to the original it seems impossible. In this paper we intend to show in Mighty Aphrodite by Woody Allen, the director makes the handling of themes and formal elements, like the Chorus, the ancient drama, in order to get a good reception by contemporary audiences.
