| Resumo: | For this paper, sporadic anthroponyms that use the Brazilian Portuguese [MC X]N formation, e.g. as MC 50 reais, MC Cuscuz, MC Ortobom, MC Detran, and MC Cidade Alerta, were studied. Such names were used by users of online social networks and refer to celebrities, usually in a pejorative way. These sporadic occurrences, although subject to systematization, do not seem to fit properly into the anthroponym categories proposed by Leite de Vasconcelos (1928), Amaral (2011), Araujo (2013), Amaral & Seide (2020), and Soledade (2022). Thus, in this article, the category of “nonce anthroponyms”, which was analyzed not only in terms of naming practices but also in terms of morphological configuration and semantic motivation, is proposed. For the last two mentioned aspects, concepts of Construction Morphology and Cognitive Semantics were applied. |
