Resumo:The present work verified the existence of, due to the treatment aimed at education for ethnic-racial relations in the curriculum of Licentiate Degree courses in Mathematics of Bahia institutions, as well as discussing the importance and need for the treatment of this topic, to contribute to an education that values ​​and respect diversity. A research, documentary and bibliographical, of a qualitative nature, was carried out with data obtained from documents and by listening to coordinators, professors and students of the courses, through questionnaires. It was noticed in most institutions the lack of training, which reflects the lack of interest or even the lack of knowledge of the need to deal with the subject, on the part of the course coordinators, as opposed to the need of students who perceive the influence of this gap in their, when faced with the hypotheses of racism in the school context.
