| Sumario: | The text discusses the process of internationalization as an evaluative criterion of academic excellence in Postgraduate Education in Brazil. It starts from the premise that education and socio-economic development are goals and policies on the agenda of globalization and neoliberal policies based on the recommendations of multilateral funding bodies. In this context, it analyzes the evaluation criteria established by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) to distinguish Postgraduate Programs in Education and regulate the criteria of academic excellence. The data was collected from the Sucupira Platform, based on an analytical approach that demonstrates the classification of programs and regional asymmetries, with a higher degree of internationalization in programs located in the Southeast and South regions, in line with the economic and social development of the region. |
