| Sumario: | This work reports the experience of a training course and formation of environmental drivers to the young people living in the area, from the perspective of environmental education, to work in this Conservation Unit as monitors of the visitors. It aimed to provide an opportunity of learning and understanding the importance of the patrimony, and to insert them into the labor market. The project included a course consisting of theoretical and practical activities developed in the city of São Roque de Minas and included high school students from Vargem Bonita, São Roque and São José do Barreiro, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, which are closer of the The National Park Serra da Canastra (NPSC) access portal. The course consisted of a partnership between the State University of Minas Gerais, Passos Unit, the National Institute of Science and Technology of the Hymenoptera Parasitoides of the Southeast Region of Brazil (INCT-HYMPAR Sudeste) and the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio), which ensured the development of a certificate of completion and a membership card for the trainees to act in the PNSC region. Fifteen students were certified, and there was a waiting list for the formation of new classes. |
