Sumario:Introduction: In the 21st century, major sporting events were brought to Brazil and to ensure their realization, being the most competitive - the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which left a great sporting legacy in terms of facilities for high-end sport income in various modalities, to be managed by the responsible institutions and holders of the equity. Objective: Identify the motivation and the expected return of the Armed Forces involvement in the major sporting events that took place between 2011 and 2016, particularly the EB, and present the actions for managing the legacy of these events and present management data recorded for the years 2017 until 2021. Methods: Administrative documents and reports from the permanent installations of the EB sporting legacy were examined. The research strategy used the mixed methods technique, with bibliographical, documental, ex-post facto research, collection, and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data in the same study. Results and Discussion: Historical facts, reports, and data on the use of legacy facilities of major sporting events in the Brazilian Army area were examined. The average occupancy rate of the facilities was 75%. Considered high. Conclusion: The legacy facilities managed by the Army showed a high degree of quality and efficiency in their management, with a wide range of activities developed and demonstrate their vocation for sporting excellence, with a potential for growth and expansion of high performance until initiation sports and social projects.
