Resumo:The present article uses the concept of economic territory of imperialism, elaborated by Hilferding, as basis for the comprehension of recent moves in the national oil and gas chain. From the theoretical framework, governmental data, experts reviews on the theme and news published in the media, the article analyzes the difference in governmental policies and the centrality of national question within the theory of imperialism, as well as the relevance of this theory in the comprehension of the resurgence of agressive american action over previously subaltern territories in a time of profound geopolitical changes.
