Sumario:Acrocomia aculeata (Jacq.) Lodd. ex Mart., is a specie that has several common names, including macaúba, belonging to the family Arecaceae. The specie has a significant socioeconomic value, and is used as raw material for many products. The present study aimed to evaluate the importance of socioeconomic of Acrocomia aculeata for the Association of Small Farmers Riacho Dantas and Adjacency. We conducted a field survey of character qualitative and quantitative which were applied two semi-structured interviews scripts, one for the collectors and the other to the director of theassociation. The results were as expected. The fruits are collected manually and mostly are for the factory where they are processed into various products, for commercial purposes, valuing natural resources of the Cerrado, associated to the generation of employment and income. Thus, it is concluded that the macaúba has a very large socioeconomic importance to the Association, in order that, through the properties of the fruit, jobs and income are generated for the population, in addition to serving as a stimulus for the preservation of the species and habitat in which it is embedded.
