This article intends to problematize the hegemonic scientific discourse, which only establishes the typical male body and the typical female body as normal and, therefore, frames all bodies that deviate from typical models as wrong or pathological. The research carried out was bibliographical and documentary. The article was divided into three topics: the first presents a brief history of the construction of hegemonic notions about sexual bodies; the second topic presents how atypical bodies are remodeled by scientific discourse in order to consider them wrong and pathological, instead of variations of nature; and, finally, the third presents a new way of looking at all sexual bodies.A ciência hegemônica considera que existem apenas dois corpos sexuados: o masculino e o feminino, o que denomina-se de “dimorfismo sexual”. Contudo, as evidências revelam que os corpos de homens e mulheres variam imensamente. O presente artigo pretende problematizar o discurso científico hegemônico, o qual estabelece apenas o corpo masculino típico e o corpo feminino típico como normais e, com isso, enquadra todos os corpos que fogem aos modelos típicos como errados ou patológicos. A pesquisa realizada foi bibliográfica e documental.
