Descripción
Sumario:The present work aims to show how the transformations in the caatinga landscape, resulting from agroecosystems, over the last five decades, are perceived by the residents of the Água Branca de Fora community (municipality of Saúde - BA, Brazil). It was realized Bibliographical and field researches, in order to highlight the concepts of agroecosystems and geographic landscape, based on theoretical contributions from studies of agrarian and geographic sciences. The research instruments used in the field were: semi-structured interviews and mental maps, carried out with the residents of the community. Content analysis was used to categorize, systematize and describe the perceived reality as it is. Among the various factors perceived by the residents, the following stand out: agricultural activities, fences with wood extracted from the caatinga, the creation of pastures and the population increase. Finally, it is evidenced the environmental concern that emerges from the act of remembering, realizing issues that have not been revealed.
