| Sumario: | The Black Movement has its practices aimed atresistance and struggle for the social inclusion of the black population, at the mobilization in favor of the public policies that guarantee the exercise of citizenship and at the confrontation of the violations of rights. The objective of this research was toknow the contemporary Black Movement in Salvador from the perspective of its militants, identifying the possible contributions for psychologists torethink their practices with the black population. This is a qualitative research, whose methodological resourceswere secondary data of a database composed by semi-structured interviews with militants of the Salvador – BA Black Movement. The content analysis made it possible to identify the characterization of this Social Movement, emphasizing its struggles, achievement sand challenges. The study provided an opportunity to identify the importance and contribution of the Black Movement to the local population, making explicit the achievements in the area of education, health and valorization of the black people that are part of the Brazilian constitution. Although the acknowledgement that there is racism in Brazil is already unquestionable, it is still necessary to debate racial relations in all social spheres. The study showedaspects that psychologists can incorporate in the deconstruction of racist practicesand theories in an ethical and committed way with the black population. |
