Sumario:The encounters provided by the transatlantic crossings and the cultural borders formed from a long historical process were fertile for the appearance of several cultural manifestations and religiosities in this vast territory that we call Brazil. In the Amazon, more specifically in Amapá, in the capital Macapá, these meetings favored the birth of Marabaixo, a frightening manifestation of popular Catholicism that has in its ancestral roots a diversity of stories and memories sung by the thieves. This article intends, primarily, to elucidate some paths that lead us to understand what are the historical and etymological roots of Marabaixo, the material elements that permeate this manifestation, as well as its transformations over time, guiding this study in bibliographic sources and interviews with the actors of this celebration that takes place every year on the periphery of the Amazon to celebrate the Divine Holy Spirit and the Holy Trinity of the Lambs.
