| Sumario: | This article aims to reflect on the necessary affirmation of agroecology and food sovereignty as central elements in social struggles in rural and urban areas, in the construction of alternatives to the capitalist agri-food system, and their contributions to the political formation of individuals through experiences in Brazil and Spain. It was carried out through theoretical research, with the Marxist theoretical-methodological perspective as a reference. We conclude that the connections between agroecology and food sovereignty strengthen and bring together struggles and resistances, both in rural and urban areas, and can enable the construction of a counter-hegemony to the global dominance of capital over the agri-food system. Moreover, experiences in the political formation of individuals have been configured as a way of preparing for confrontations and disputes, concerning the current capitalist model of agriculture and environmental goods. |
