Descrição
Resumo:Iberophony, based on the symbolic value of the linguistic proximity between Spanish and Portuguese, is a political and economic project that has repercussions on the way of understanding the linguistic diversity present in the countries that form it. In this research, from a glotopolitical perspective, we elaborate synthesis of the management of hispanophone and lusophone communities to analyze a colloquium organized between the Cervantes Institute and the Camões Institute in 2021, which are aiming at the intercomprehension between these languages as an argument to consolidating an Iberophone space. In conclusion, we identify that certain discourses on intercomprehension in Iberophony tend to make an abstraction based on what is common to these two languages. This contrasts with other intercomprehension proposals derived from multilingualism and linguistic diversity.
