Sumario:Introduction: sleep is a physiological mechanism controlled by the circadian cycle that has as biological clock or photojournalism. However, when human need to extend working hours like taxi drivers work, there is shortening and worsening sleep quality. Objective: The objective of this present work was to stratify the sociodemographic profile of taxi drivers and to correlate with a quality of sleep. Method: a questionnaire was applied with the sociodemographic data and PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index). Results: of the 78 respondents, mostly male consuming a substantial stimulant coffee, which reduces sleep, despite its better quality. Discussion: no statistically significant variable was found comparing sociodemographic profile, habits and worsening of sleep quality. Conclusion: there is no real influence variable in the worsening of sleep quality of taxi drivers.
