Sumario:The coast of Paraíba is 153.47 km long, shared by 10 municipalities, among them, João Pessoa, the capital, whose shore covers 23.89 km of sandy beaches. This study aims to present an environmental perception of the landscape resulting from coastal erosion control structures on Cabo Branco beach, in João Pessoa municipality. Field and satellite images observations, as well as academic and journalistic texts that address environmental problems common to coastal zones were carried out. The analysis of the area allowed the elaboration of schematic models of landscape characterization and identification of environmental impacts of an anthropogenic nature, which have negatively modified the area, among them: coastal erosion and de-characterization of the landscape by the installation of structures that compromise the dynamic balance of the beach. Studies of this nature are important to support the planning of public-private projects, in addition to field research for students of Higher and Basic Education.
