| Resumo: | Toinvestigatetheexecutionofthebloodtransfusionprocess. Method: Thisis a descriptivestudywith a quantitative approach. In whichthe medical recordsofpatientswhoreceivedbloodtransfusionswereanalyzed, in theperiodbetweenOctober 1st andDecember 31st, 2021, in a small-sizedTeaching Hospital, located in thenorthwestregionofthestateof Paraná. Duringtheperiodinvestigated, 63 bloodtransfusionswereperformed, 68.25% in femalepatients, andthemajority (n=59; 93.65%) performed in theIntensiveCare Unit. The greatestadherenceto safe practiceswas in thepre-transfusionstage (n=59; 93.65%); andduringtransfusion (n=59; 93.65%). The findingsofthisstudyshowedpotential in termsoffilling out theconsentformand medical prescription. Ontheotherhand, weaknesseswereidentified in completingtheTransfusionRequisition. It isnecessarytoreinforcegoodpracticeswiththenursingteam, as well as tocarry out training tocarry out a safe transfusion. |
