Descripción
Sumario:This research study aimed to investigate how Suriname has guided the recent behavior of its international economic relations and how the path taken has contributed to the current standards in its international insertion. The period selected for our reflections is from 2007 to 2017 and the study has been prepared by using bibliographic and documentary sources to think through the theoretical assumptions from the field of International Political Economy. In summary, this small country has the commodity market as its main export sector and it has started to invest in infrastructure and long-term development plans in order to attract more agreements and investments, but it needs to vary its productive sectors and overcome political instabilities to improve the economic setting.
