| Sumario: | Minas Gerais has a huge challenge, wich is the Second Mining Cycle related to the destonation of billions of tons of iron ore tailings that currently exists and that will remain in the state for the next centuries. In this context, innvation is a fundamental element in finding technically and economically viable alternatives. In this work, the current sectorial system of mining innovation in Minas Gerais is evaluated, and the importance of collaborative networks to generate the necessary innovations for the disposal of tailings. The work describes a unique initiative involving government-university-industry that was the creation of the R3 Mineral Platform, a collaborative network for iron ore mining to develop solutions for the disposal of tailings after the accident that occured in Mariana in 2015. A comparision is also presented with two other collaborative platforms, AMIRA(Australia) and CEMI(Canada). |
