Resumo:Introduction. The universal right to access education faces challenges in ensuring an inclusive system, particularly for students with disabilities. Objective. This study focused on creating accessible educational materials for visually impaired individuals in the discipline of magmatic petrology within the geology course. Methodology. We utilized Braille printing, a fusor machine, “Multiplano”, a Braille labeler, and manual materials such as wood sticks, hot glue, and raised ink. Results and discussion. Practical activities involved handling samples and thin sections, with illustration diagrams printed using the fusor machine. Field practical classes enabled the observation of rocks in situ. The use of “Multiplan” in map creation complemented the learning process. Conclusion. We concluded that the developed materials were effective; continuous feedback from the student guided material improvements, fostering mutual learning exchange. This study also underscores the benefits of these materials for non-disabled students, promoting a more accessible and high-quality higher education for all.
