| Sumario: | In this work, optical networks using the hybrid technology of wavelength division multiplexing and optical code division multiplexing (WDM/OCDM) are investigated. The architecture of the network is described and it is shown the main advantages of applied optical paths with wavelengths and optical orthogonal codes (OOC) to routing and switching virtual optical paths. The main results show that the use of OOC codes together with optical codes converters have a great impact on the decrease of blocking probability for establishing virtual optical paths, increasing network use. |
