| Resumo: | This article presents to the readers of the alagoan novelist Graciliano Ramos (1892- 1953) a publication on the preoccupation with Childhood. By registering his hate of children’s books while characterizing them as “boring, heavy, fickle, syrupy” and his aversion to the pedantry contained in these books that were composed for little ones, Ramos was full of strangeness and repugnance to such practices. This article analyzes this school of writing, described by Ramos: the rudeness of the children’s learning, the dull readings of the school books, the moribund formation of the teachers, the boring days of the school, the precarious structure, the corporal punishments and the humiliations. To support this work, there was a dialogue with Batista (2009), Benjamin (2011) and Gomes (2003). It was observed a reflection on the type of literature and the effects on the formation of childhood: the real world should not be replaced by the invented world; the child had to simultaneously transit between the lived world and the invented world. |
