Descripción
Sumario:The objective of this essay is to present the thoughts of Thomas Kuhn and reflect, based on his work, on scientific training in the field of Brazilian Physical Education (PE), contributing to the strengthening of critical thinking in order to combat prejudices such as “endogenous denialism ” and “epistemophobia”. To this end, it presents two essential characteristics of the scientific training process defended by Kuhn: convergent thinking and divergent thinking. It is concluded that scientific training in Brazilian PE must be guided by both convergent thinking and divergent thinking, as it is necessary to know the theoretical-methodological, epistemological and historical assumptions of PE (convergent thinking), but this becomes is insufficient since it is divergent thinking that offers better conditions for solving problems that involve practice.
