Resumo:Religious Education was instituted in Brazil due to political decisions which ignores its scientific basis. The successive legislation delegated the decisions of the contents to be taught in the classroom to academic and pedagogic instances, that is, to academic and communities Currently, Religious Education is supported by a legitimate and consolidated discipline, that is, Science of Religion, which can be compared with a flowchart of specializes sciences, whose researches, institutions and applications are relevant both for the academic field and Brazil’s Federal educational system.
