Description
Summary:The objective of the work is to understand the divergences and congruences in teaching in public and private educational institutions from the life trajectory and professional training of a Basic Education teacher, who has teaching experience in these institutions. Through the methodology of thematic oral history, a recorded, transcribed, textualized and validated interview was conducted. It was questioned what are the divergences and congruencies of the teaching experience in private and public educational institutions? It was found that the teacher does not conceive of the idea of training a pedagogue with theory alone, without having experienced the practice. She believes that undergraduate training needs to improve and that it should be more focused on praxis. Finally, this study was intended to provide reflections and debates about teacher training, as well as pedagogical praxis.
