Descrição
Resumo:The article aims to understand the role of musicalization in Early Childhood Education. Defined as the first stage of basic education, the purpose of early childhood education is the integral development of the child, in its physical, psychological, intellectual, and social dimensions. The methodological approach used in the study is qualitative. This is a descriptive and bibliographical study developed through an integrative literature review. Searches were conducted in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations and the Portal of Periodicals of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel. In addition, the main documents that guide pedagogical practices in Early Childhood Education were researched, as well as how musical language is included in these documents. The results of the research show that the role of musicalization in Early Childhood Education is to enhance cognitive development, since it stimulates sensory, motor, auditory, creative, affective, and social capacities, among others.
