| Sumario: | In the present work, we seek to analyze the elaboration and execution of a project entitled OBMEP Challenge (Brazilian Public School Mathematics Olympiad) developed in the Supervised Curricular Internship I. The present project was carried out during the co-participation phase of the ECS in a public school from the municipality of Baraúna, in the state of Paraíba, aiming to make the best possible use of the intern's placements, the OBMEP Challenge was developed throughout the month of May, with the aim of preparing and keeping students motivated until the day of the test. For this challenge, eight questions were proposed, covering the four areas ofmathematics (arithmetic, statistics, geometry and algebra), of which we chose four to analyze the students' anticipations and responses, encompassing each of the areas of mathematics. The action involved seven high school classes, three of which were in the 1st year, two in the 2nd year and two in the 3rd year. This municipality is part of the 4th region of Paraíba and has the particularity of being one of thethree municipalities in this region that have never won medals in the OBMEP, along with Sossego and São Vicente do Seridó. At the end of the challenge, we were able to notice a significant evolution in the development of students' mathematical and argumentative language in their solutions. |
