Resumo:In the current context of infodemic, characterized by the relentless dissemination of information, podcasts have been transforming their content to contribute to the dissemination of true and reliable information. With the increasing demand for trustworthy and evidence-based information, institutional podcasts have emerged as an alternative means of communication to promote scientific outreach to the community. This study aims to map the episodes related to the terms "fake news" and "misinformation" available on the Lúmina Podcasts platform, from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, discuss their results, and analyze the concepts of fake news, misinformation, and disinformation within the contemporary context of the infodemic. The methodology employed was qualitative, mapping and describing the university's podcast programs that address these topics. As a result, a notable engagement of Lúmina Podcasts in scientific dissemination and combating fake news was observed. The mapped episodes encompass various knowledge areas, including health, information science, and humanities, ensuring that a wide audience can engage with topics related to misinformation and fake news. It can be concluded that the use of podcasts as a tool to disseminate reliable information is a necessity, and we hope that this initiative inspires other institutions to implement their own podcasts. However, it is important to recognize that, despite the existence of these podcasts, the ease of sharing information on digital communication platforms still allows fake news to spread rapidly. To overcome the lack of trustworthiness in information and debunk misinformation, the role of science communicators in the midst of the infodemic also involves leveraging all available resources to facilitate the exchange of information between the academic realm and the general public.
