| Sumario: | This report presents a technique for the calculation of stress intensity factors using the J integral numerical evaluation. The formulation of the J intergral was deduced for plane problems in Linear Elastic Fracture Mechanics, including an alternative formulation for domain loading. Using the Finite Element Method in conjunction with an adaptive remeshing process, stress intensity factors were determined for several examples, each one pointing out a particular aspect of the presented method. The results are similiar to those obtained in the literature and were within Engineering acceptable margin of errors. |
