| Resumo: | This article aims to demonstrate the occupation process in the surroundings of the igarapé Grande basin, Boa Vista - RR, from the time scale from 1985 to 2020, highlighting the urban evolution in the basin area. The methodology used involved an on-site visit, collection of drone images, bibliographic survey to understand the process of occupation of the area. The results demonstrate that the process of occupation of the area intensified from the beginning of the 2000s and has been consolidated until the present day, with the creation of Areas of Social Interest, superimposed on the Permanent Preservation Area, in this sense, the policies of municipal management must pay attention to this issue, since the consolidation of these areas impacts and promotes several impacts on socio-environmental quality.
