Description
Summary:By understanding that coastal areas are dynamic and unstable, analyzing the application and real efficiency of the planning that was developed for this region is necessary. In light of this, this paper has as its main goal the assessment of the full execution of the Projeto Orla in the city of Icapuí-CE. Regarding the methodological aspects, this is a case study with a qualitative research, in which data was gathered in field by means of questionnaires administered to administrators and scholars of the field. The results showed that the Projeto Orla, which was developed for this area, was not fully effective and needs revision. In this way, it is necessary that city authorities develop effective policies that are in the planning for the coastal area of the region in order to minimize existing impacts in the locality. The aforementioned plan needs revision in order to guarantee a really sustainable environment for the community.
