| Resumo: | Can archeology produce knowledge about gender (s) that does not maintain trans people in the condition of anomaly? Aware of the incredible and permanent silence in the ample archaeological literature regarding existences and bodies outside the male/female and man/woman binarisms, this work aims at constructing a queer critique within archeological knowledge production that transcends these modern western binaries. Based on an investigation of the archaeological literature, the aim is to see the ways with which the theme of sex and gender non-binarisms has been treated, as well as to give visibility to alternative paths being traced. The trans gaze proposed in this reflection is affirmed as an effort to strengthen a Brazilian queer archeology willing to distance itself from hegemonic discourses on what constitutes normality. |
