Descripción
Sumario:This essay aims to examine some aspects of Guimarães Rosa's short story “O espelho” [“The mirror”]. The philosophical matrix of this narrative can be identified from its form, which takes the structure of a dialogue between the narrator and an interlocutor that is not identified. By verifying how the author conveys various types of knowledge ”“ philosophy, psychoanalysis, Hermeticism ”“, it is possible to identify a main character which oscillates between the rational and irrational when reflecting on his own identity. Therefore, we aim to elucidate how these elements are configured, alternating and complementing each other as clues, in the composition of the narrator's reasoning and in the narration structure itself, so that we can perform its interpretation.
