Description
Summary:This article investigates what and how teachers’ digital competences are dealt with in teacher training courses. BNC-Formação, the document that establishes teacher training in Brazil, is compared to DigCompEdu, a European document, adopted to guide the development of teachers’ digital competence in Portugal. The first aim of this study is to determine what competences are expected from teachers in Brazil. The second aim is to compare DigCompEdu and BNC-Formação related to the development of teachers’ digital competences for ESL teaching, discussing how the European document may collaborate with this context. After contrasting and matching the documents, it is possible to affirm that DigCompEdu collaborates significantly in the development of ESL teacher training digital competences in Brazil.
