Descrição
Resumo:The research consists of presenting the result of the application of the project “Fake News for what?” carried out with 8th grade students from a municipal elementary school in the city of Biguaçu, state of Santa Catarina. The project, designed by the school librarian, author of this article, was implemented in partnership with the school's Portuguese teacher. In this sense, the article demonstrates the role of the school librarian in facing fake news. The project took place in 8 (eight) stages, corresponding to eight classes, in which the librarian had an active participation in the discussions and research moments. Once the project was completed, it was possible to observe the commitment and interest of the students in the theme presented and in carrying out the proposed activities. The project provided students with contact with false information and its consequences, allowed reading and writing and also worked on students' information literacy.
