Descripción
Sumario:Considering that Modular Coordination and Building Information Modelling (BIM) have emerged as potential strategies to improve the AEC industry, this study aims to investigate the association between BIM and Modular Coordination by developing an application for demonstration purposes, besides recording its methodology. This paper presents the process of customizing a BIM application, being the investigation divided into three stages: understanding, development and validation. The results include the development of an early version of a plug-in that has the purpose of automatically generating layouts of ceramic blocks for rationalised masonry; the proposition of a methodology for the recognition of rules of construction of modular objects, in this case, building systems; and the verification that BIM and Modular Coordination used together may enhance the benefits obtained by each one individually.
