| Sumario: | Teachers´ training is essential for teaching Botany in schools. The teacher trainer (Higher Education teacher) has a prominent role in Distance Education (EAD). In this study, we want to identify which Knowledge Bases/KB (according to Shulman, 1987; and Koehler and Mishra, 2008) were present in subjects about Botany in two Distance Education (DE) courses. We also want to identify the conceptions of three trainers about those KB, establishing possible relationships with their pedagogical choices. After analyzing the data, we detected an emphasis on Content Knowledge and close relations with the resources used in Learning Environments. We also detected that teacher trainers have some difficulties with the specificities of EAD. The training of trainers is crucial, allowing them to expand their knowledge about distance learning courses and their teaching repertoires focused on DE. |
