The study 'Social Protection in Asia and the Pacific: Inventory of Non-Contributory Programmes' (IPC-IG and UNICEF 2018) intends to contribute in addressing these gaps, providing an overview of non-contributory social protection programmes in selected regions of Asia and the Pacific. Moreover, the programme profiles presented will also be made available online, through the socialprotection.org platform". (...)"Os programas de proteção social são hoje amplamente reconhecidos como instrumentos-chave para combater a pobreza nos países em desenvolvimento. A Agenda 2030 para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável reconheceu, explicitamente, a importância da implementação de "sistemas e medidas de proteção social nacionalmente apropriados para todos, incluindo pisos de proteção social", como uma meta explícita no Objetivo de Desenvolvimento Sustentável 1: "Acabar com a pobreza em todas as suas formas”. Entretanto, informações sobre programas específicos sendo implementados em países em desenvolvimento podem ser fragmentadas ou inacessíveis. O estudo "Proteção Social na Ásia e no Pacífico: Inventário de Programas Não Contributivos" (IPC-IG; UNICEF, 2019) pretende contribuir em relação a essas lacunas, fornecendo uma visão geral dos programas não contributivos de proteção social em regiões selecionadas da Ásia e o Pacífico.
