| Resumo: | The production of sunflower cultivated for cut flower has great commercial potential in Brazil, due to its characteristics, such as wide adaptation to different environments. But the success of this activity depends on some factors such as the quantity and quality of irrigation water, affecting the plants in both water and saline stress situations. In the search for possibilities for attenuation of these effects on plants, this study aimed to investigate the effects of the combination of absorbent polymer, irrigation shift and salinity of irrigation water on the establishment of ornamental sunflower cv.Anão-de-Jardim. conducted in the city of Fortaleza- Ceará from January to March 2019, in a greenhouse of the Department of Soil Science, Center of Agrarian Sciences of the Federal University of Ceará, using as a substrate a mixture of Ultisols soil and organic compost, used in a 2: 1 ratio, respectively. The treatments were arranged in a completely randomized design in a 2x6x2 factorial scheme, in which the absence and presence of hydrogel in the substrate, six electrical conductivities of irrigation water (0.4; 1.0; 2.0; 3.0) are associated. 4.0 and 5.0 dS / m) and two watering shifts (daily and two-day interval). The effects of the factors were studied in the following variables: height, stem diameter, number of leaves, dry matter mass of the shoot, chapter dry matter mass, total dry matter mass and internal and external diameters of the chapter. All results were submitted to analysis of variance, means compared to Tukey test at 5% probability level and for quantitative data regression studies were performed. From the results, daily irrigation stimulated plant growth. The increase of the irrigation water salt content affected linearly and decreasing all the studied variables from 0.4 dS / m. The presence of the hydrogel in the substrate favored the growth of the ornamental sunflower cv.Anão-de-Jardim. |
