| Resumo: | The availability of flow data in a hydrographic basin is fundamental for the planning and management of water resources. However, the density of fluviometric stations (FLU) is limited, making it necessary to apply different methodologies that allow the transfer of information from one location with observed data to another without flow measurements. A practical example of this problem is the calculation of loads of pollutants in water quality stations that do not coincide with the fluviometric stations. Methodologically, this study aimed to evaluate four flow transfer methods in the Rio das Velhas basin. The first method applied was the ratio between the drainage areas of sites with and without flow data and the other three are methods of regionalization of the flow-duration curves (FDC). The first method of regionalization of the FDC consists of defining homogeneous regions from the permanence curves dimensionless by the average daily flows of the period used for evaluation, Oct/1994 to Sep/2014. Each homogeneous regions will have a dimensionless FDC. Then, the regression of the averages of the daily flows with the characteristics of the basin is carried out. In the second method the same steps will be applied in each hydrological year of the data period. The third method consists of fitting a probability distribution to the permanence curves and, then, the parameters of the distributions adjusted to the permanence curves are regionalized through a regression with the characteristics of the basin. The explanatory variables associated with the geomorphological and climatic characteristics of the basins that will be tested in the regressions will be the drainage area, evapotranspiration, average annual precipitation, slope and effective precipitation. The evaluation of flow transfer methods was carried out through the application of the following metrics: "R², RMSE, EPMA and KGE". Of the tested methods, it was observed that the method of regionalization of the FDC proved to be more adherent, with significant improvement in all performance metrics used. After selecting the most appropriate method for obtaining flows, daily flow series were generated from 2012 to 2020 at the water quality stations of the IGAM network, where most locations do not coincide with the fluviometric stations, culminating in the conclusion of the present study. |
