| Resumo: | This article intends to do a comparative work between the graphic novel Sweet Tooth by Canadian writer Jeff Lemire (2009-2013) and the homonymous 2021 Netflix series, in an adaptation by Jim Mickle. The research considers the main alterations presented by the series in relation to the original text and examines the clear avoidance, again in the series, of visual and textual elements mainly from horror (normally connected to the gothic), because Netflix’s Sweet Tooth prefers to focus on fantastic or realistic elements. The present analysis will be made mainly in the light of theories about horror, the gothic and intermediatic adaptation. |
