| Summary: | The Amazon biome is one of the most important reserves of biodiversity worldwide and its conservation is essential. However, exploitation and deforestation in the areas of this biome have grown in recent years. It´s important to know how large the impact that these activities are causing in the biodiversity is. One way to assess this impact is the use of bioindicators, whose study allows inferences about the health of the ambient that are under study. In the present work we study the ant communities in areas of the municipality of Jari-PA, located in the Brazilian Amazon. The study was conducted in four different land uses: primary forest reserve areas, ecological corridors, forest areas suffering from selective logging and areas planted with eucalyptus. 150 species were identified. 98 species were found in the areas of primary forest, 77 in primary forest corridors areas, 42 in selective logging areas and 84 species in the eucalyptus areas. In the primary forest, ecological corridors and eucalyptus plantations were observed the predominance of the subfamily Myrmicinae. In the areas with selective logging predominated the Myrmicinae and Formicinae subfamilies. The area of primary forest showed the highest species richness and was considered the most preserved. The second greatest richness was obtained in the ecological corridors, followed by selective logging areas and eucalyptus plantations. The species composition also showed variations according to land use. 30 species were unique to primary forest, 18 for the forest corridor, two for selective logging and 22 for eucalyptus. In the species accumulation curve, there was no differentiation of primary forest with the ecological corridors. In the analysis of partition γ diversity, was observed a diversity β2 of approximately 27%. In the Indval analysis, the primary forest presented only one species with significant value of indication, that species being the Pachycondyla laevigata (Smith, 1858). |
