In the second, her next to last article, the issue of Freud’s nanny is the inspiration to examine the torn fabric of relationsbetween class and race in Brazil. Far from being a “minor” issue, Mariza shows that the theme of nannies is important to both the understanding of the economy of emotions and to the feminist reflection in contemporary Brazil.Este artigo, uma homenagem à Mariza Corrêa, aborda dois de seus escritos mais importantes: Morte em família (1983) e “A babá de Freud e outras babás” (2007). No primeiro, Mariza desvelou as articulações entre gênero e classe que perpassam a ordenação jurídica dos crimes cometidos por homens e mulheres em relações de conjugalidade. No segundo, seu penúltimo artigo, o assunto da babá de Freud é o acicate para examinar a tessitura esgarçada das relações entre classe e raça no país.
