| Sumario: | Abstract This academic work analyzes social properties of the senator Paulo Paim as well as his writing production, exploring the imbrications between his political biography (militancy and political positions) and books written and published during this path. This research is part of an investigation agenda that has been developed in the Laboratory of Studies on Political and Cultural Elites (LEEPOC/UFMA), coordenated by the professors Igor Gastal Grill and Eliana Tavares dos Reis, that examine how policy professionals are able to build, by the use of the written word, representations about politics, economics, culture, the 'nation', regions, ethinic groups, etc. Paulo Paim distances himself from other 299 legislators (mapped in the broader project), for his humble social origins, his political profile (whith conections with sindicalism), his race identification (he’s one of the few black legislatores that also have a writing career), and also for his writing work, dedicated to themes like the working class, ethnic groups, retirement issues (the so called ‘minorities’), etc. Here we entend to understand forms of interpretation of ‘reality’ used by this agent, his connections with themes that are disputed in cultural and political domains in the country, as well as the uses of this causes to build and manage his strategic identities and his condition of spookman of certains classes, causes, etc. |
