Summary:The objective of this study was evaluate the prevalence of HIV in a group of users of Anhanguera highway – SP 330, in a Truck driver Project, a partnership among Secretaria da Saúde, Instituto Adolfo Lutz, CRT-AIDS, Intervias concessionaire and Araras University. The samples weretested by ELISA reactions (Organon-Tecnika e Murex-Abbott) with confirmation of positive or indetermined results by IFI and Western-Blot techniques. Of 1844 tested individuals, 15 (0,9%) were HIV positive, all of them truck drivers.
