Resumo:This paper presents the results of a qualitative exploratory study based on a bibliographical and documentary research, whose objective was to analyze the guidelines for the internationalization of higher education in the declaration of the Regional Conference on Higher Education 2018 and in the documents of the World Higher Education Conference 2022. The methodology used was historical-critical, based on Saviani's theory, which aims to understand educational questions based on objective historical development. Among the main findings of the research, it was observed that there is a dichotomy between a humanist and solidary conception of internationalization and an economic vision, which finds its basis in the adoption of market rules and in the creation of a united global ecosystem based on the principles of sustainable development of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations.
