| Sumario: | The present article investigates the political trajectories of leaders of two directories of the Federal Republican Party (PRF). This party existed in the State of Paraná during the years 1908 and 1909. Through a case study, the present work aims to produce knowledge about the internal organization and electoral action of the opposition parties existing in Brazil of the First Republic. There are three argument advocated in this article. First, it is argued that the leaders of the PRF came from the party that gave political support to the governors of Paraná. Second, it is evidenced that the leaderships of this party did not maintain between them a long-term political alliance. In this context, the union between the members of the opposition from Paraná was not very consistent. Thirdly, one aspect that is common to the last years of the careers of some of the leaders of the PRF was the return to the political group that commanded the Government of Paraná. |
