Resumo:This article analysis the Guadalupe Virgen devotion in Zacatecas from its origin, with the establishment of the Apostolic College by the Franciscans to the tensions generated when the town council of Zacatecas adopted an image of Virgen of Guadalupe stamped on linen that was different from the image brought by the Franciscans known as "Preladita" and which was object of deep veneration by the people of Zacatecas.
