| Resumo: | This article presents an overview of cultural and memory policies for capoeira in the municipality of Duque de Caxias, which is part of the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro. The objective is to consider the implications of national policies for the locality, especially in terms of the protagonism of personalities, institutions and groups linked to capoeira. We have noticed that, over the years, it is possible to evaluate the management, continuities, discontinuities, limits and advances both in the reality of local capoeira and in the organization of a network that involves capoeiristas, managers and researchers. At the crossroads between history, memory and narrative, the information was produced from published texts and reports from technicians, managers, researchers and capoeiristas. |
